Salt Meats Cheese is a family-owned Italian restaurant group and purveyor of gourmet Italian produce. Growing from a small, grassroots deli in Alexandria to now almost ten venues spanning across NSW and QLD that additionally celebrate cooking schools, bars, restaurants and food trucks, SMC was experiencing an identity crisis.

Brief.

Example established the need for a brand strategy and refresh which assured they'd stand out from the
increasingly-crowded Italian restaurant scene.

Solution.


Being young, fun Italians at heart, we wanted to use the ethos of SMC to amplify a new type of Italian dining.
Our brand is traditional, but not bland. Authentic, yet not expected. It's comfort food without getting comfortable. 

We wanted to showcase the artistic, food-driven side to Italian culture. The identity seeks to mess with the status quo,
and uncover the lesser-known parts of Italy, in a way that makes sense here and now.
